Course Unit Description
This course provides an in-depth exploration of the principles and practices of sustainable tourism and environmental management. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the environmental, social, and economic impacts of tourism and develop strategies for sustainable tourism development and management. The course will cover topics such as biodiversity conservation, climate change, cultural heritage preservation, community engagement, and responsible tourism practices.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this course, students will be able to:
- Understand the concept and significance of sustainable tourism and its role in environmental management.
- Analyze the environmental, social, and economic impacts of tourism on destinations and assess their implications for sustainable tourism management.
- Develop strategies for sustainable tourism development and management, considering the involvement of various stakeholders.
- Apply principles of biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation, and responsible tourism practices in real-world scenarios. .
